Welcome To Tuatara

Welcome to Tuatara.

Here are all your first day of school 2013 faces.

It's going to be another exciting year. Already planned for Term One:
  • a Beach Day and visiting author Bruce Potter in Week 3,
  • an over-night camp,
  • a triathlon towards the end of the term,

AND lots of great work discovering information about ourselves and classmates.

Just a little Dr Seuss inspiration to start the year off....

"Today you are You, that is truer than true.
There is no one alive who is Youer than you!"

LET'S BE CURIOUS ALL YEAR! That's our school-wide theme for 2013.

Maths Morning 19 September

We learnt how to play some maths games. Then our parents and caregivers arrived and we taught them how to play them.

It was a great day and we learnt lots of maths.

I enjoyed the maths morning because it was fun.

Bus safety visit

Constable Joe and Andrew came and talked to us about bus safety.

We learnt lots of dos and don't on the bus......
We learnt not to stand while the bus is moving, not to sit on your knees, don't throw things on the bus, don't swing on the bus seats, use quiet voices on the bus and keep your hands and feet inside the bus

Then we went for a drive on the bus.....

Constable Joe placed a ball in the middle of the bus to show  us how much movement happens on the bus and what would happen if the bus stopped suddenly.

Planting seeds

First we had a look around the OSCAR garden.

Then we got taken down to the peas in the garden.
We got to eat some.
They were yummy!

Planting the Seeds

First we wrote our names on a garden label.

Then we put some soil in a punnet.

Next we watered the soil to make it moist for the seeds.

Finally we planted some seeds.
We planted garlic, pumpkin and onions.

Book Week

Week 7

I liked pyjama day because I just woke up and made my lunch and went to school. I liked the book swap as well because I got to swap books that I didn't like with new books. Bella

I enjoyed when we all dressed up. After lunch we got to go around and listen to other students speeches that they shared with their class. I also enjoyed swapping books and getting new ones to read at home. Keira

My favourite day was the dress up day because we got to dress up as a character of a book and it was my first time. I dressed up as a pig hunter. Daemon

I liked studying Dr Seuss. I like all his books. I learnt that his first name was Theodore Seuss. My favourite book is "The Grinch that stole Christmas". Troy

Kite Day - 15 August 2012

       Kite Day

On Wednesday 15th August the junior syndicate had a kite day.
Everyone had so much fun flying kites we had made in class and kites we brought from home.
We were very lucky with the weather. The day started off with lightening and thunder in the morning but by 10:30am the sky had cleared and with a light breeze the kites flew great!
We finished our Kite Day off with a shared lunch. Yum Yum!
